Vertiv has appointed Michael Resha executive vice president of manufacturing, logistics and operational excellence. He joins the company's executive leadership team with immediate effect.

Resha succeeds Anders Karlborg, who has moved into a new role as special operations projects leader and will support the leadership transition. He will report to Chief Executive Officer Giordano Albertazzi and lead Vertiv's global manufacturing, logistics and operational excellence organisation.

Resha will oversee efforts to scale manufacturing operations, expand capacity, optimise capital deployment and align operational execution with Vertiv's longer-term growth plans. He will also continue the rollout of the Vertiv Operating System, known internally as VOS.

The appointment comes as demand for digital infrastructure tied to artificial intelligence and high-density computing reshapes supply chains and production planning for equipment makers serving data centres and related markets.

Albertazzi said the change reflects Vertiv's effort to adapt its global operations as demand rises.

"Our ability to translate unprecedented demand into exceptional customer outcomes depends on continuously evolving our global operations as we scale," said Giordano Albertazzi, chief executive officer of Vertiv. "Michael brings deep experience leading large, multinational manufacturing networks and aligning operations, engineering and supply chain capabilities to support growth. As demand for critical digital infrastructure continues to accelerate around the world, he will play an important role in advancing our operational excellence journey, further deploying the Vertiv Operating System and helping ensure the company is positioned to capitalise on the significant opportunities ahead."

Before joining Vertiv, Resha worked at Stellantis, where he most recently served as senior vice president and global head of injection and stamping. In that role, he oversaw operations across North America, Enlarged Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific.

Earlier, he led Stellantis' North American manufacturing operations across the United States, Canada and Mexico. He also held manufacturing leadership roles at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Gestamp Automoción, Volkswagen, Kia Motors and Mercedes-Benz.

According to Vertiv, this background gives him experience across industrial production, capital deployment, operational improvement and leadership development. Resha holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Alabama and has completed executive management programmes at EGADE Business School and Fudan University.

In his new role, Resha will oversee a manufacturing and logistics network that supports Vertiv's supply of power, cooling and IT infrastructure products used in critical digital applications. The group operates in more than 130 countries and serves data centres, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities.

Leadership transition

Karlborg is stepping down as executive vice president of manufacturing, logistics and operational excellence after a period of expansion marked by rising demand and greater operational complexity. In his new position, he will report to Albertazzi and support the handover.

Resha said the manufacturing function is central to the company's response to customer demand.

"Vertiv's global manufacturing organisation is critical to meeting growing customer demand for the infrastructure that powers and enables today's digital world," said Michael Resha, executive vice president of manufacturing, logistics and operational excellence at Vertiv. "I look forward to working with teams around the world to continue advancing our operational excellence journey, investing in our people and scaling our global capabilities to support Vertiv's continued growth as we deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers."

Albertazzi also praised Karlborg's contribution to the business and its operations.

"Anders has played an essential role in strengthening Vertiv's global operations during a period of rapid growth and complexity," Albertazzi said. "His deep understanding of our manufacturing footprint and ability to deliver under pressure have strengthened execution, quality and continuous improvement across the organisation. I have valued his judgment, dedication and partnership throughout our eight years working together. He has made a lasting impact on Vertiv."
