Trend Micro to unveil AI-driven security solution at COMPUTEX 2024

Fri, 7th Jun 2024

Trend Micro has revealed plans to showcase a groundbreaking AI-driven data centre security solution at COMPUTEX 2024 in Taipei. The new offering, named Trend Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud, aims to meet the rising demand for secure AI solutions in government and large enterprise sectors, driven by regulatory and national security concerns.

Eva Chen, CEO of Trend Micro, emphasised the importance of the new security solution, stating: "While many in the industry are claiming advancements in AI security, we're out showing business-critical use cases. The integration of NVIDIA NIM with our Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud brings the power needed for this entire infrastructure change ahead as companies worldwide adopt generative AI."

Trend Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud (SPC) integrates NVIDIA NIM, a suite of inference microservices that are part of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. This integration is designed to accelerate generative AI deployment across clouds, data centres, and workstations.

Pat Lee, Vice President of Strategic Enterprise Partnerships at NVIDIA, highlighted the significance of this collaboration. "Leading companies recognise the importance of deploying generative AI in diverse environments, including sovereign private clouds, and are developing strategies for integrating security into their AI applications. Trend Micro's NVIDIA NIM integration illustrates how generative AI can be used to enhance the security of customers' environments across various enterprise infrastructures."

The new security platform is expected to cater to the growing needs of both government and private sector organisations. These entities seek to leverage AI in their on-premise data centres to boost productivity and innovate AI-powered user experiences while also addressing the risks of expanding their attack surfaces.

Frank Dickson, Group Vice President at IDC, noted: "Governments, MSPs, and large enterprises increasingly look to private clouds to alleviate regulatory and national security concerns. Their ability to do so without compromising performance could be a major tipping point in the mass adoption of AI services worldwide."

In response to these demands, Trend Vision One SPC uses NVIDIA NIM optimised AI inferencing microservices that locally serve Trend's Cyber Security LLM. This enhancement aims to improve data privacy, real-time analysis, and rapid threat mitigation.

Srujan Talakokkula, Managing Director at Trend Micro, ANZ, Commercial, commented on the local impact: "Trend Micro is consistently finding ways to support the Australian and New Zealand markets' public and private sectors as organisations prioritise AI adoption. The integration of NVIDIA NIM into our Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud solution is a critical step in ensuring local organisations maintain robust security, compliance, and data sovereignty as they move forward with a data-driven approach."

The integration not only addresses the complexities of next-generation AI-driven data centres but also delivers efficient threat detection and response capabilities. By avoiding inline inspection on traffic and preventing high CPU consumption and increased latency, the solution ensures seamless operation and maximises both security and AI efficiency.

Trend Vision One SPC also integrates with NVIDIA DOCA App Shield, an API that gathers information about application processes and continuously validates their integrity. This helps to detect and mitigate malicious activities. Additionally, it integrates with NVIDIA Morpheus, part of NVIDIA AI Enterprise, to analyse large data volumes in real-time for faster threat detection and to extend analysts' capabilities with generative AI.
