OptiValue Tek launches SENTINEL-DOME for drone defence
Thu, 25th Jun 2026 (Today)
OptiValue Tek has launched SENTINEL-DOME, a counter-drone defence system for critical infrastructure as sites face rising risks from unauthorised and hostile drones.
The launch comes as operators of airports, energy facilities, government sites and industrial campuses grow increasingly concerned about drone-related surveillance, smuggling, disruption and security breaches. SENTINEL-DOME is intended for use across those environments, where airspace monitoring has become a more important part of site protection.
The system combines several detection and monitoring tools in a single setup, including AESA radar, radio frequency detection systems, electro-optical and infrared cameras, acoustic sensors, autonomous interceptor drones and a tethered intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance drone.
Described as a sensor-to-shooter system, SENTINEL-DOME is designed to detect, identify, track and neutralise drone threats in real time. Information from the sensors is processed through AI-enabled sensor fusion to help security teams identify, classify and prioritise threats more quickly.
How it works
The system follows a six-stage workflow: detect, classify, authorise, intercept, neutralise and report. Once a threat is confirmed, the platform can deploy interceptor drones as part of the response chain.
The tethered surveillance drone can provide elevated monitoring across a radius of up to five kilometres. This is intended to improve visibility over large facilities and support continuous observation of sensitive areas.
SENTINEL-DOME is built on a layered defence architecture covering detection, identification, decision and neutralisation. The aim is to give security teams a single view of potential threats and available responses.
Designed for all-weather operations, the system can be deployed in settings ranging from individual facilities to larger infrastructure networks. Its modular, scalable architecture allows organisations to adapt the setup to changing operational and security requirements.
Market focus
Counter-drone technology has become a more active segment of the security market as the use of unmanned aircraft expands across commercial, industrial and recreational settings. Critical infrastructure operators have been under pressure to improve defences against low-cost aerial devices used for surveillance, contraband delivery or disruption.
The launch places OptiValue Tek in a market where defence contractors, specialist drone companies and security technology groups are developing systems for drone detection and interception. Products in this category typically combine radar, optical tracking, radio frequency monitoring and command software to identify threats and guide a response.
For infrastructure operators, one of the main challenges is balancing early detection with a controlled response. False alarms, legal restrictions on interception, and the need to maintain operations around airports, energy assets and government sites have made integrated monitoring systems more attractive than stand-alone tools.
OptiValue Tek said the product is intended to provide that integrated approach through persistent 360-degree surveillance and automated decision support, improving operational visibility and shortening response times when an aerial threat is detected.
Ashish Kumar outlined the rationale for the launch in a company statement. "SENTINEL-DOME has been designed to address one of the fastest-growing security challenges facing critical infrastructure today. As drone technology becomes increasingly accessible, organizations require advanced capabilities to detect threats early, make informed decisions quickly, and respond effectively. Our goal is to deliver an integrated and autonomous defence solution that strengthens security resilience and helps organizations stay ahead of evolving aerial threats," said Ashish Kumar, Managing Director, OptiValue Tek Consulting Limited.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in India, OptiValue Tek operates offices in the United States and Australia and works across more than 15 countries. Known as a technology consulting firm, the company is expanding into counter-drone security for critical infrastructure with the launch of SENTINEL-DOME.
The system is intended for airports, power plants, oil and gas facilities, defence installations, government establishments and industrial campuses. Its tethered surveillance drone offers monitoring coverage of up to five kilometres.
