Pegasystems appoints Ravesh Lala to lead legacy practice
Pegasystems has announced the appointment of Ravesh Lala as the head of its legacy transformation practice.
Ravesh Lala brings over two decades of experience in management consulting, enterprise software, artificial intelligence, legacy systems modernisation, and cloud transformation to his new role. Prior to joining Pega, he held senior leadership positions at IBM, contributing significantly to the Watson and Cloud business units. As the vice president and worldwide go-to-market leader for industry solutions at IBM, he led the core banking and payments business for IBM Cloud for Financial Services.
Pega's legacy transformation practice targets a specific market need by assisting clients in modernising legacy applications, reducing technical debt, leveraging artificial intelligence, and expediting their transition to the cloud. Mr. Lala will guide clients in strategising and implementing their transformation initiatives utilising Pega GenAI Blueprint, a platform designed to accelerate workflow redesign and application modernisation.
John Higgins, Chief of Client and Partner Success at Pega, expressed optimism about the unique prospects the legacy transformation practice represents. "Most organisations are overwhelmed by the demands of maintaining legacy systems, which leaves them with limited resources to drive innovation and stay competitive," said Mr. Higgins. "This presents a unique opportunity for Pega to establish a dedicated practice focused on accelerating our clients' legacy transformation. With his extensive experience and deep expertise, a skilled leader like Ravesh is well-equipped to guide Pega's clients through even the most challenging modernisation journeys."
The Pega GenAI Blueprint is pivotal to this new practice. It features AI-driven capabilities that allow IT teams to rapidly assess current systems and reimagine workflows, thereby mitigating technical debt. Since its inception, the platform has seen the creation of over 60,000 blueprints, marking it as one of the fastest-adopted solutions in Pega's history. It utilises generative AI to develop app designs swiftly and effectively, positioning it as a tool that expedites innovation in workflow design.
Commenting on his new role, Ravesh Lala stated, "Pega is uniquely positioned with its business process-centric, multi-cloud platform architecture, and innovations like Pega GenAI Blueprint will help organisations digitise outdated workflows and modernise supporting applications. I look forward to working with clients on their transformation journeys, leveraging cutting-edge GenAI solutions to deliver meaningful value."
Mr. Lala's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics from the University of Pune, India, and an executive education degree in advanced technology strategy from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
