Microscan and Activeport have partnered to develop a pan-India Network-as-a-Service platform for enterprise and carrier customers.

The project will combine Activeport's network orchestration software with Microscan's fibre network, allowing customers to provision, scale and manage connectivity through a self-service portal.

The service is designed to connect data centres, enterprise sites and cloud service providers while reducing reliance on manual provisioning. Subject to availability and rollout, it is expected to support point-to-point and point-to-multipoint circuits, configurable bandwidth, managed network services and centralised service visibility.

Microscan, based in Mumbai, provides fibre connectivity, dark fibre, point-to-point links, data centre interconnection and managed network services. Activeport, based in Perth, develops network automation and orchestration software for the telecommunications, data centre and IT markets.

India rollout

The platform is expected to launch in early 2027, followed by a phased rollout across Microscan's fibre footprint. The companies also plan to explore application programming interface-based methods to make connectivity and related digital infrastructure services easier to discover, buy and manage across participating network providers.

Any marketplace element would depend on the scope and timing of later development. For now, the initial focus is on deploying Activeport's software as an overlay on Microscan's network to support service activation across data centres, enterprise buildings and cloud connectivity points.

The partnership reflects broader business demand for more direct control over network services as cloud adoption and artificial intelligence workloads drive traffic and capacity needs. Telecoms operators have been introducing automated provisioning tools to shorten delivery times and give customers more visibility over service changes.

Michael Glynn of Activeport said: "Demand for data centre and network capacity is growing as businesses expand their use of cloud services and AI. Network automation can help operators make connectivity services easier to provision and manage. We are pleased to work with Microscan to bring Activeport's orchestration capabilities to customers across India."

Avinash Rawal, Chief Revenue Officer at Microscan, said: "Our aim is to make business-critical connectivity simpler to access and manage. By combining Microscan's fibre infrastructure with Activeport's orchestration technology, we intend to give enterprises and carriers a more flexible, self-service way to provision and manage network services."

Microscan said the partnership forms part of its wider digital infrastructure strategy in India, where operators and enterprise customers are seeking ways to connect multiple sites and cloud environments with less manual intervention. Activeport said its software is designed to automate the design, deployment and management of network services across edge-to-cloud environments.

Microscan's published company information lists ISO 27001, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 20000-1 certifications.
