'Illuminate 2.0' sparks tech conversations at annual Mysuru event

The second annual illuminate 2.0 event, organised by L&T Technology Services Limited and The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in Mysuru, took place recently with leading figures from various sectors sharing insights and perspectives in the thriving technological domain.

Speakers Shri Ramesh KS, Senior Vice President of Ather Energy, and Thiyagarajan .A, Project Specialist - Statue of Unity, L&T Construction, shared profound expertise and experiences from the world of technology, innovation, and engineering.

The event showcased immersive discussions exploring the untouched horizons of technological advancements across industries and fields. Ramesh K.S. emphasised the growing impact and sustainability advantages of electric vehicles, pointing out their potential to overturn the global mobility industry. Thiyagarajan A. disclosed the journey behind the design and construction of the world's tallest statue - The Statue of Unity, elaborating on the groundbreaking technologies and the initiatives employed during its swift construction.

The captivated audience - comprising scientists, engineers, industry leads, government officials, academics, students, and media – were drawn into the remarkable tales behind today's astounding creations. In a following fireside chat moderated by Rajeev Gupta, CFO of L&T Technology Services Limited, the speakers further explored the role of engineering in planning, growing, and optimising methods for significant improvement without compromising efficiency, quality, or trustworthiness. Their key message was that passion is crucial to achieving new heights in their own fields.

Abhishek Sinha, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at L&T Technology Services, shared his reflections on the event, stating "Through illuminate, our flagship industry-academia interface initiative, LTTS strives to honour its commitment towards fostering unparalleled excellence and a spirit of innovation among young engineers, emerging technologists, and the general public. The direct experiences, links and insights into the pioneering developments – from electric vehicles to construction engineering – in the dynamic city of Mysuru, reaffirms our conviction that sustainable growth models can only be achieved through comprehensive and ongoing stakeholder engagement to drive the next boundaries of success."

The inaugural edition of illuminate was attended by Dr. Mylaswami Annadurai, widely known as India's Moon Man, and Shri Sudhanshu Mani, the driving force behind the Vande Bharat express trains. Illuminate aims to continue encouraging a passion for engineering excellence among the youth and technology enthusiasts in the future.
