Data-driven approach saves USD $135 million in data centres

Fri, 5th Dec 2025

XYZ Reality has reported delivering more than 408 days of schedule recovery and USD $135 million in cost savings across seven data centre projects for a global operator. The outcome followed the deployment of its project management platform across sites in six countries.

Project delivery

According to the company, the global operator was facing operational pressures amid rising demand for digital infrastructure. The challenges included fragmented reporting, inflated contractor claims, and significant schedule uncertainty impacting the on-time delivery of data centres.

The implementation of XYZ Reality’s technology provided the client with a new data-driven approach. The platform was first introduced on a high-priority project, where it identified a 30% deviation from the baseline and supported a 51-day improvement in the project timeline.

Portfolio impact

Following the initial results, usage of the platform expanded rapidly to six additional sites. On these projects, the system uncovered previously undetected risks, challenged excessive claims from contractors, and brought uniformity to delivery reporting processes.

XYZ Reality confirmed that the use of its system supported a reported 10x return on investment for the global operator and served to standardise practices across the client’s European programme.

Data-driven operations
"This engagement proves what's possible when you make project intelligence central to capital delivery," said David Mitchell, Founder & CEO, XYZ Reality. "Time isn't just money in hyperscale construction - it's competitive advantage. By surfacing risks early and enforcing precision, we're helping clients deliver with confidence and control."

The firm highlights that by embedding its solution, field teams and leadership teams achieved greater alignment through consistent progress validation. The client gained abilities to forecast risks across concurrent builds and enforce standardised reporting, regardless of country or contractor involved. This translated into new delivery discipline and improved accountability.

Framework standardisation

Waleed Zafar, Chief Revenue Officer at XYZ Reality, described the approach as a portfolio-wide transformation, rather than an isolated project improvement.

"The real story here is portfolio transformation," said Waleed Zafar, Chief Revenue Officer at XYZ Reality. "We didn't just accelerate one project - we created a scalable framework that drove measurable impact across an entire regional program. Replicating those results portfolio-wide sets this engagement apart and demonstrates how data-driven control is transforming capital delivery."

Client outcomes

XYZ Reality states that the use of its platform set a new benchmark for delivery performance in the data centre sector, particularly for hyperscale developers managing large, cross-border portfolios. The client was able to maintain visibility and accountability at every stage, turning project data into actionable decisions.

These results have positioned the engagement as an example for the sector, demonstrating how similar approaches can enable faster, more disciplined project delivery for companies with complex infrastructure needs.
