CoreWeave has entered India through a collaboration with AdaniConneX, including plans for a 240 MW data centre deployment in Navi Mumbai.

The project will be built at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus, where the companies plan three 80 MW buildings for CoreWeave's AI cloud platform. CoreWeave will be the sole tenant across all three buildings and may expand the site by a further 240 MW.

Alongside the build-out, the US-based cloud company plans to open an office in India and hire local staff. That would give it a direct presence in a market it described as a growing centre for AI development and data centre investment.

The facilities are intended for high-density AI computing. The site will use direct liquid cooling for GPU data halls and a non-evaporative chilled water system, with a design intended to support later generations of AI computing hardware.

CoreWeave plans to deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform systems at the campus. The India expansion is intended to serve customers running AI training, inference, reasoning and agentic workloads in the region.

India expansion

The move adds India to CoreWeave's international footprint across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. It also follows the company's recent entry into Indonesia, marking another step in its push to place infrastructure closer to customers in Asia.

On its earnings call in August, CoreWeave said it had about 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power. The India deployment would therefore represent a significant addition to its infrastructure base, while also giving it a larger presence in one of the world's fastest-growing digital markets.

India has drawn rising interest from technology and infrastructure groups seeking land, power and connectivity for new data centre capacity. Demand has been supported by growth in cloud services, digital applications and government-backed efforts to expand domestic AI and computing resources.

CoreWeave linked the investment to India's wider AI ambitions, including the IndiaAI Mission. It said the combination of local hiring and a dedicated campus would help it work more closely with customers and partners in the country.

"India has the talent, developers, and ambition to become a major center of AI innovation," said Sachin Jain, Chief Operating Officer, CoreWeave.

"We are investing in the infrastructure, technology, and local presence needed to support that growth, bringing 240 megawatts of capacity, NVIDIA Vera Rubin, and CoreWeave's expertise to customers building and scaling AI in India," said Jain.

Campus design

AdaniConneX is a joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX. It has outlined plans to build a 1 GW data centre platform in India, and the Taloja campus is part of that broader effort to expand domestic digital infrastructure.

The Navi Mumbai project is expected to be delivered in phases, with the first phase due to be available in mid-2028 and additional capacity coming online over time.

The scale of the project underlines how AI-focused cloud providers are seeking larger and more specialised data centre sites than those used for conventional enterprise computing. Such facilities require substantial power supply and cooling systems, particularly for large model training and inference workloads.

CoreWeave has built its business around infrastructure designed for AI use cases and has sought to distinguish itself from broader cloud providers by focusing on GPU-heavy deployments. It said it is used by nine of the 10 leading foundation model providers.

The company, which listed on Nasdaq in 2025, has also pointed to benchmark results and external rankings to support its position in AI cloud services. Its India launch gives it an operating base in another major geography as competition for AI-related data centre capacity expands globally.

CoreWeave said the Taloja site offers the opportunity to double capacity at the campus through an expansion of up to 240 MW.
