Cloudera enhances on-premises platform with new AI visual tools

Yesterday

Cloudera has announced the latest release of Cloudera Data Visualization, expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities to customers using on-premises data environments.

The release brings integrated AI-driven data visualisation tools and natural language querying to enterprises operating across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. These new features aim to assist businesses in improving collaboration and decision-making when handling large and complex data sets.

According to Cloudera, enterprises frequently encounter challenges visualising their data due to isolated platforms, complicated integration processes and data governance constraints. The lack of a unified view can result in incomplete or misleading insights, impeding effective business decisions.

Cloudera Data Visualization, now available for on-premises deployment, provides AI capabilities natively within the Cloudera platform. The company states that this addition enables organisations to carry out self-service visualisation across multiple environments and the entire data lifecycle. Features include intuitive tools for chart creation and the ability to derive insights using natural language inputs.

This release introduces several key features to deepen user engagement with their own data. The platform includes an out-of-the-box imaging tool with a drag-and-drop builder for creating a wide range of graphs and charts on a single platform. Users can address various analysis cases, from tracking customer loyalty trends to monitoring multi-decade trading patterns.

The updated version also features built-in AI tools. The AI Visual component allows seamless integration of AI-driven insights into Business Intelligence workflows. Users can easily generate visual and structured reports using natural language queries, making advanced analytics more widely accessible within the organisation.

Another major aspect is the Predictive Application Builder, which allows businesses to develop custom applications. This tool comes pre-integrated with machine learning models not only from Cloudera AI, but also from cloud providers such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, and Microsoft Azure OpenAI.

In terms of security, Cloudera Data Visualization leverages the Cloudera Shared Data Experience (SDX) for integrated enterprise security. This system aims to allow organisations to utilise their data without copying or moving it, thus mitigating potential security risks. Advanced governance features are also built in to provide strict control over data used for visualisation.

Leo Brunnick, Chief Product Officer at Cloudera, commented: "As enterprises continue to prioritise both multi-cloud and hybrid environments, they need to see their data as a part of a bigger picture. Bringing together AI-driven insights, secure infrastructure, and seamless collaboration in one unified platform, users can see the missing puzzle pieces of their data, wherever they may be. It's not just about being able to see the data; it's about seeing how it all fits together to deliver business-critical insights."

Piyush Agarwal, SE Leader, India, Cloudera, said: "As data becomes the most strategic asset for modern enterprises, Indian businesses are under growing pressure to unlock actionable insights in real time. However, fragmented architectures and evolving data governance demands impede this progress. With Cloudera Data Visualization now available in on-premises environments, we are empowering organisations to access AI-powered insights securely, while maintaining complete control over their infrastructure. This launch underscores our commitment to supporting Indian enterprises in becoming more agile, compliant, and insight-driven amid a rapidly evolving AI and data-first economy".

The updated platform has drawn attention for its direct integration with the wider Cloudera suite. Industry analyst Sanjeev Mohan stated: "By integrating directly with Cloudera's unified platform, users benefit from a consistent experience, enhanced collaboration, and full lifecycle data exploration—all while retaining full control over their own infrastructure. Now, Cloudera users can picture and share insights securely within their on-prem environment, allowing their teams to be more agile and informed in their decision-making."

Cloudera's latest offering supports enterprises seeking to improve collaboration and data-driven decision-making, while maintaining compliance and control in both cloud and on-premises settings.
