Practical guidance for PR agencies, sources, vendors, and communications teams working with TechDay.

Where should I press releases?

You must send press releases to editors@techday.com or they will not be considered.

Key points

!
Sending to other email addresses or individual editors will result in rejection, delaying consideration of your news.
!
The editors@techday.com email address replaced pr@techday.com. Please update your mailing lists.

Can we update a press release after sending it?

No, the first version received will be considered the final.

Key points

!
Only send the final approved version and not drafts.
!
Updated releases will not be considered.

In what format should I send press releases?

You must include the body of the press release in the body of the email.

Key points

Attached or linked press releases will be rejected.
Press releases should be 650 words or longer.
See the image section below for how to send us images.

How should I send images with press releases?

Our preferred method is for you to attach one to three images to the original email.

Key points

We love human headshots, photos, product shots or screenshots to go with press releases.
Images should be at least 1,200 pixels wide by 677 pixels high.
These are the minimum sizes, larger is fine.
Do not stretch the image to fit our size requirements.
We don't need more than three images for a story.
Attaching images is preferred over links or online storage tools.
Ensure you have the copyright to the provided images.
There is no need to provide stock photography.

How does TechDay handle embargoes?

When embargoes are clearly identified on the original email, TechDay will always respect them.

Key points

There is no need to send us an email asking if we agree to an embargo.
Use the words Embargo or Embargoed in the subject line and body of your email.
!
Specify the embargo time, date and timezone toward the start of your email.
X
Embargoes cannot be added or changed after submission.

How long will it take to assess my press release?

Key points

Our Editors pick only the best 5-8% of press releases for writing into news stories.
You will be notified by email if we pick up your news for coverage.
Publication timing depends on editorial workload and news value.
Releases sent to us are archived after seven days.
You will not be notified, if we do not select your release for writing into a news story.
