Kingston Technology has expanded its product range with new memory, secure USB and data centre storage products, including a new capacity option for an existing solid-state drive line.

The update spans three products aimed at different parts of the market: the Kingston FURY Renegade Pro DDR5 RDIMM with Heat Spreader, the IronKey Locker+ 50 G2 USB flash drive, and a 30.72TB version of the DC3000ME Gen5 U.2 NVMe SSD.

The memory product targets compatible workstations and high-end desktops that support Intel XMP or AMD EXPO. The overclockable registered DIMM modules now reach speeds of up to 7600MT/s. The 7200MT/s and 7600MT/s versions use a revised aluminium heat spreader to help manage temperature during sustained workloads.

The DDR5 RDIMM modules support overclocking with ECC, a combination intended to improve memory performance while preserving data integrity. Kingston positions the product for on-premise AI work, engineering simulation, data science and other professional applications that require high memory bandwidth and system stability.

Security focus

The IronKey Locker+ 50 G2 extends Kingston's encrypted storage line. The USB drive uses FIPS 197-certified hardware encryption with AES 256-bit in XTS mode, and includes protection against BadUSB attacks through digitally signed firmware and controls intended to resist brute-force password attempts.

The drive supports both administrator and user passwords. Users can choose between a Complex mode, which allows passwords of six to 16 characters using multiple character sets, and a Passphrase mode, which allows 10 to 64 characters, including sentence-style entries or PIN-based formats.

Administrators can reset user passwords, while a visible password option is intended to reduce login errors. The device locks automatically after 10 failed user log-in attempts and triggers crypto-erase after repeated administrator failures. Other features include a virtual keyboard intended to reduce exposure to keyloggers and an anti-fingerprint coating.

The flash drive works with both Windows and macOS without requiring software installation, allowing users to move encrypted files between systems without setting up additional client software.

Data centre capacity

For enterprise storage customers, Kingston has added a 30.72TB option to the DC3000ME Gen5 U.2 NVMe SSD line. The drive uses a PCIe 5.0 NVMe interface and is aimed at compute-intensive workloads that need faster access to large data sets.

The DC3000ME can deliver sequential read speeds of up to 14GB/s and random read performance of up to 2.8 million IOPS. It remains backward compatible with PCIe 4.0, allowing deployment across mixed server estates as organisations migrate to newer hardware.

The SSD uses 3D eTLC NAND and includes on-board power loss protection designed to preserve data if a system loses power unexpectedly. It also supports AES 256-bit encryption and TCG Opal 2.0 self-encrypting drive functions, features often used by organisations with internal security and compliance requirements.

The additions show Kingston addressing several distinct demand trends at once, from workstation users running memory-intensive professional workloads to companies seeking encrypted removable storage and operators expanding storage density in servers. The mix also reflects how component suppliers are targeting narrower use cases as AI development, engineering workloads and data governance requirements place different pressures on infrastructure.

Kevin Wu, Sales, Marketing and Business Development Vice President, APAC, outlined the rationale for the launch. "Today's users-whether enterprises running mission-critical workloads, professionals handling sensitive data, or creators pushing performance limits-need solutions that deliver not only speed, but also reliability, security and long-term consistency," he said.

Wu added: "With these latest additions, Kingston continues to deliver purpose-built solutions designed for real-world applications. Guided by our 'Built on Commitment' philosophy, we remain focused on supporting our customers with trusted solutions across performance, security and enterprise infrastructure."

The DC3000ME is supplied with a five-year limited warranty, alongside technical support for enterprise and data centre customers.
