Cisco reveals AI-powered solutions for secure digital workplaces

Wed, 11th Jun 2025

Cisco has announced a suite of new products and solutions aimed at supporting secure infrastructure for organisations looking to accelerate their adoption of AI technologies.

AI-driven workplaces

The company is introducing new devices designed for campus, branch, and industrial networks, coupled with AI-powered unified management tools. These additions are intended to help businesses create modern, secure workplaces that can adapt rapidly to increased digital demands and changing workflows.

Cisco highlighted unified management as a key component in shifting enterprises away from reactive IT workflows towards more autonomous and proactive network management.

The launch includes new AI-powered devices, such as the Room Vision PTZ camera—designed to improve videoconferencing experiences. Additional features like the integration of Jira Workflow Automation into the Cisco AI Assistant for Webex Suite and the Webex AI Agent are aimed at improving employee efficiency and customer support interactions across different industries.

Simplified operations with AgenticOps

Cisco is expanding its AI capabilities with AgenticOps, a set of solutions designed to simplify IT operations. Tools like Cisco AI Canvas and the Cisco AI Assistant are being introduced to enable real-time collaboration and provide conversational control across Cisco's IT suite. Central to these offerings is Cisco's Deep Network Model, a large language model trained on Cisco's internal resources, including Cisco U. courseware and Certified Internetwork Expert materials.

Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, described the broader context of these developments:

"Cisco is delivering the critical infrastructure for the AI era—secure networks and experiences, optimized for AI that connect the world and power the global economy," said Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, Cisco. "We're witnessing an unprecedented surge in innovation as organizations embrace agentic AI to automate workflows and solve complex problems. Cisco has a rich history of helping companies run their infrastructure; today, we're building on that foundation to power the next generation of AI."

Data centre and infrastructure support

Alongside enhancements to enterprise networking, Cisco is focusing on continued innovation in its compute and network solutions for data centres to support agentic AI.

The company noted the increasing importance of bandwidth, latency, and power efficiency for AI-centric operations.

Cisco is also taking steps to further AI adoption in sectors such as power grid management, notably through participation in the EPRI Open Power AI Consortium. In addition, new capabilities are being developed to help service providers deliver and monetise new AI services.

Security for the AI era

Security forms a major part of Cisco's portfolio update. The company announced enhancements to its Hybrid Mesh Firewall and Universal Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) offerings. These include the introduction of two new firewall series—the 6100 and 200 series—intended to provide customers with improved price performance.

The Cisco Security Cloud is being extended with new features designed to secure agentic AI, allowing organisations to address challenges associated with securing complex, distributed environments against AI-driven threats.

Patrick Milligan, Chief Information Security Officer at Ford Motor Company, commented on the significance of Cisco's role at Ford:

"Agentic AI is being used across Ford's business, from design to engineering to manufacturing and for customer support. As we build, deploy, and manage sophisticated AI capabilities at scale, Cisco's networking and security solutions are an important part of the overall technology infrastructure."

Digital resilience and observability

AI innovations in observability are being delivered through enhanced features in Splunk Observability Cloud and Splunk AppDynamics, alongside deeper integration with Cisco's products.

Cisco announced a new bidirectional integration between Splunk Observability, Cisco ThousandEyes Assurance, and Cisco Enterprise Networks.

The company said that this integration is aimed at enabling more resilient and insight-driven digital operations for organisations seeking to gain clearer visibility into network health and performance.

Unified management platform

Cisco is previewing a unified management platform called Cisco Cloud Control, designed to bring together the company's networking, security, and observability portfolios. The platform will feature AI-native tools, helping IT departments execute cross-product workflows, identify and resolve issues proactively, and oversee infrastructure management processes.
